Athletic Development Program
As athletes progress, they transition to gym-based training, focusing on muscle growth, strength, power, and endurance. Field-based training complements this with sport-specific movements like acceleration, running mechanics, and force absorption.
Our holistic approach builds strong, conditioned, and injury-resistant athletes while fostering a lifelong appreciation for physical activity. Training is led by certified athletic development staff at the Player Development Centre, with field sessions held at the PDC or Riel Fields.

Program Pillars
Field Based Training
Field based training is done in a games based environment to increase engagement and enjoyment. Topics include acceleration/deceleration, sprinting mechanics and force absorption.
Injury Prevention
Injury prevention is a key focus at Impact Sports Science, using pre-activations, proper warm-ups/cool-downs, and strength training to protect muscles, tendons, and ligaments.
Strength Training
Focus on building strength through compound movements while implementing programming that aids in injury prevention.
Energy Systems Development
Building and establishing aerobic/ anaerobic conditioning, speed endurance and repetitive sport ability.

U16+
Athletic Development Program
The U16+ program builds on key principles, progressing athletes to advanced strength and conditioning concepts. Athletes will train in hypertrophy, strength, plyometrics, and energy systems, while also focusing on sport-specific field training like acceleration, running mechanics, and force absorption.
Athletes will work with our certified athletic development staff at the Player Development Centre. Field based training can take place at the PDC or Riel Fields.
Athletes will undergo semi-annual fitness testing which includes:
- Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test
- 5-10-5 Agility Test
- 30 Meter Dash (measures at both 10m and 30m)
- Standing Board Jump
