SAMSL - League History and Winners

League History and Directors

Established on March 5th, 1980 under the title of St. Albert Hercules Men's Soccer League the league has been active since then (now under the SAMSL name). The league started as 5 teams: the Rummies, Homestead Floor Pioneers, Klondike Inn Kings, Bandville Blues, and Morinville Eagles and then expanded to 7 teams the following year with the addition of the Imperial Soccer Club and the Raiders. The league reached a peak of 11 teams in 1983 and has hovered between 6 and 11 since then.
